On Sunday, Prime Minister virtually inaugurated a 300-bed satellite center of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Sangrur, Punjab. He also laid the foundation stone for a 100-bed facility in Ferozepur.

PGIMER Director Professor Vivek Lal later issued a statement, saying, “The establishment of PGIMER’s satellite centers in Sangrur and Ferozepur highlights the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare’s steadfast commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and providing advanced medical facilities to all corners, ensuring equitable healthcare access for everyone in the state of Punjab.”

PGIMER’s satellite centres in Sangrur and Ferozepur will feature state-of-the-art facilities and serve as beacons of hope, healing, and progress for the communities they cater to. Additionally, these centres will extend their reach to the underserved population in remote areas through community outreach activities.

Lal said the PGIMER center in Sangrur is poised to cater to the healthcare needs of the surrounding communities by offering a wide range of medical services and specialties.

Similarly, the foundation stone for the Ferozepur satellite center lays the groundwork for future healthcare excellence in the region. The PGIMER director stated that it promises enhanced medical care and facilities.
