Fake Instagram profiles of Akaay: No sooner than cricketer Virat Kohli and actress Anushka Sharma announced the birth of their son Akaay, users on social media sites began propping up fake accounts for the infant looking to farm eager followers.
A Reddit user highlighted the sudden surge of numerous accounts pretending to be the newborn Akaay Kohli on Instagram in a post titled ‘Instagram flooded with Akaay Kohli accounts within minutes’.
Reddit users responded to the post with a variety of reactions. Some expressed concerns about the infant’s privacy, while others made jokes about potential username choices for Akaay when they joined social media.
One user commented, “Choosing a username might be tough for that guy, haha!”
Another perspective: “I believe the parents should have reserved usernames on various platforms before disclosing the name.”
Another perspective on famous toddlers: “The star kids will probably be frustrated when they can’t choose their own usernames in the future.”
While one user questioned the free time people have: “How can people be this jobless?! this is so sad dude”
Another individual expressed concern regarding the situation: “This appears rather unsettling. The infant is merely 5 days old, yet fans are establishing a social media presence for him.”
Welcoming a New Family Member
Indian cricketer Kohli and actress Anushka Sharma joyfully shared the news of welcoming their second child, a baby boy. In a heartfelt joint statement posted on Instagram, the couple revealed that their son was born on February 15, 2024. They lovingly named him Akaay.
“With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay & Vamika’s little brother into this world! We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time. Love & Gratitude. Virat & Anushka” the note posted on Instagram read.
Anushka Sharma and Kohli named their firstborn, a daughter, Vaamika, a name symbolizing the Goddess Durga, associated with the left side, or “vam,” of Shiva. Records show that the name Vaamika was least favored, given to only five babies per million in 2010, but saw a significant rise in popularity, being chosen for 28 babies per million in 2021.
Anushka Sharma and Kohli have managed to pique interest with yet another interesting name, this time for their son- Akaay.
Virat and Anushka tied the knot on December 11, 2017 in Italy. The duo was blessed with Vamika on January 11, 2021. The couple was tight-lipped about their second pregnancy.
Earlier today, the cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar shared a heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter) congratulating Virat and Anushka on the arrival of Akaay. He described the newborn as a cherished addition to their family.
He penned, “May his name illuminate the room as he brings boundless joy and laughter to your world. Here’s to the adventures and memories that will be treasured eternally. Welcome to the world, little champ!”
