YSRCP enters Guinness World Record with 1.29 lakh registrations for blood donation | Amaravati News – Times of India

AMARAVATI: YSRCP has entered Guinness world records when nearly 1.29 lakh activists and fans of chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy registered themselves to donate blood.
This is the highest number of volunteers to express their willingness in a single day to donate blood to the needy people. The previous record was registered in South Africa with 72000 volunteers.
YSRCP gave a call to its party workers and sympathisers to come forward to donate and register themselves to donate blood to mark the celebrations of chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s birthday on Wednesday.
The executive of Guinness World Records announced the new record amidst ‘Jai Jagan’ slogan shouting by the party activists at the party central office in Tadepalli. He handed over the certificate to the party general secretary and state government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. He handed over the badge of honor to skill development advisor and blood donation camps organizer Challa Madhusudan Reddy.
“We have decided to take the pledge and registrations from the party activists as we could not utilize the entire quantum of blood units collected in a single day last year due to the overwhelming response from the activists. We rushed the blood units to neighbouring states for utilization in emergencies,” said Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. He said that though they collected blood units in good number on Wednesday too, they have encouraged more activists to switch to the pledge route in order to utilize the blood in case of emergencies within the state.
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy last week had asked all the legislators and constituency in-charges to promote and encourage the blood donation registration activity across the state. Party had also launched a dedicated portal for accepting the registrations as well as pledge forms. The party had also organised blood donation camps across the state. Housing minister Jogi Ramesh had also donated the blood at a camp organized.
