Woman gang-raped, branded with cigarettes in Vijayawada | Vijayawada News – Times of India


VIJAYAWADA: A 35-year-old woman, a daily wage labourer, was locked in a room and gang-raped by four men in Penamaluru of Krishna district.
The accused took her to the crime spot on the pretext of work, made her consume alcohol and committed the crime.
According to the sources, the victim, a resident of Vijayawada, was taken to a room near Sanath Nagar, the outskirts of Vijayawada, by four people claiming that they had labour work at their place.
The woman was made to consume alcohol with them. When she was under influence of alcohol, the accused committed gang rape against the woman.
Later, the accused locked her in the room since Friday and she was also branded with cigarettes.
The woman who somehow managed to escape from there is currently undergoing treatment at the Vijayawada Government Hospital with serious injuries.
Penamaluru police arrested the three accused.
