In Maharajganj: His inability to say Urdu words correctly, cost him his marriage.
A man pretended as a Muslim to marry a girl was caught and handed over to the police officers when he failed to say Urdu words correctly during the marriage ceremony.
The culprit, who belongs to Siddhartha Nagar, was in a relationship with the girl from the Kolhui area. They met on a social media platform and became friends.
The girl was aware that the boy was not a Muslim but she decided that she will not reveal the identity of the boy to her family. The girl convinced the boy to marry her according to the Muslim customs.
The incident was taken place in the Kolhui police station limits in Maharajganj district of UP on Monday.

While the marriage ceremony was going on, the groom who was pretending to be a Muslim could not pronounce some Urdu words properly and this made the girl’s family suspicious. When the groom clumped over Urdu words, the girl’s family asked to see his PAN card and his true identity was revealed.
The bride’s family members and the villagers catched the groom and hold of the accused and his friends while they were trying to flee.
After getting caught by the villagers and family members, he was handed over to the police officials. The marriage has been called off for now.
Inspector in charge of the case, Dilip Shukla said that the groom and the bride were brought to the police custody and were being interrogated now. The further action would be decided later, he added.
The bride and the groom were in a relationship after meeting on a social media platform where they became friends and they continued to chat and talk, later they stepped in relationship.
