Fake birth certificate racket busted, 4 arrested in Hyderabad | Hyderabad News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: Four persons, including a MeeSeva centre operator in Old City, were arrested by Hyderabad Task Force police on Friday for allegedly running a birth certificate racket and issuing illegal certificates.
Police said the accused issued 3,000 such certificates after collecting ₹2,000 to ₹2,500 on each certificate from gullible parents. Cops recovered 243 certificates from the accused who have been identified as Ibrahim, MeeSeva centre operator, Ameer of Mannat Online and Shabaz and Shanawaz of Hi-Tech Online Service.
“The applicants whose details are not mentioned in the records approach the online centre brokers to obtain birth certificates. The brokers then contact Ibrahim, who would fill the data online through MeeSeva portal without uploading any relevant documents. The accused would collect names of the child, father, mother and birth date and issue a certificate after collecting the fee,” police said.
“The applicant is entitled to apply for the birth certificates through a MeeSeva centre. After due verification, the assistant medical officer of health concerned will issue the birth certificate,” police said.
