Hyderabad News: Former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin has been revoked as the President of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). This change came after the Apex Council met on Wednesday evening and with one mind took the decision to terminate Azharuddin as the President of HCA.
Mohammad Azharuddin was elected as the President of Hyderabad Cricket Association HCA on September 27 of 2019 and has been seen dragged into several controversies about him. The HCA members accused him of taking one-mind decisions without consulting the panel.
The Apex Council has taken this decision citing pending cases against him. It is also learned that the Apex council has also suspended his membership and has also served show cause notices to him.
The council also stated that the President had acted in a manner that has taken down the dignity of the HCA in the eyes of the other state associations and the BCCI.

“The Apex Council is left with no option but to terminate and send Show Cause Notice and invoke rule 40 (6) pending inquiry proceeding into complaints and charges of misconduct,” it was also stated in the notice. One of the charges was related to an earlier declaration that Azharuddin had become a mentor of a club named Northern Warriors which participates in a T20 tournament in Dubai as well.
Azharuddin Alleged over Violation of Rules
The second charge was also against Azharuddin which was that he had not informed the HCA or BCCI about retirement plans for the cricket before 14th December 2019. In that notice it’s stated that “As you are aware, a period of five years should be enough for you to contest an election from the time of your informing the HCA and the BCCI and about the date of your retirement,” the notice stated.
Based on these things and facts the Council held that Azharuddin was not reliable to contest the election in the year 2019 in the first place as per the Lodha Committee recommendations.
